Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced WordPress developer to support development, maintenance and management of Vendasta WordPress platform and other digital projects as assigned
  • The successful candidate would be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and updating plugins
  • You will be responsible for managing all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks
  • You will also manage all SEM campaigns on Google and Bing in order to maximize ROI

Your Impact

  • Support websites within the WordPress platform quickly, following company standards and protocols
  • Develop site layout and graphics by coordinating with other teams and working within a pre-established design.
  • Design images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc
  • Update existing websites in both HTML and WordPress
  • Setup and maintain e-commerce websites
  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
  • Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO strategy performance
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
  • Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations
  • Work with the development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code
  • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science (considered an asset), or equivalent experience
  • 2+ experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice de facto standard plugins, Javascript and performance best practices
  • 2+ years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO campaigns
  • Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions, customizing WordPress to support specific functionality, creation of custom post types, Theme/template integration.
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (eg, Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Customer service experience and focus
